This is an e-journal that provides refereed, academic articles that focus on aspects of information literacy. This is a very helpful resource that allows you to stay up-to-date on emerging opinions and practices in the field.
This is a short YouTube video that gives a tutorial on how to save citations using MyJSTOR. This would be very helpful to direct library users to.
The Music Library Association (MLA) is a great resource for music librarians. This site gives announcements for job openings and upcoming workshops. The association also gives links to other resources of interest to music librarians.
5. Major Orchestra Librarians’ Association
This organization is similar to MLA; however, there focus is strictly on orchestra librarians. They provide job announcements and links to other resources as well.
6. ACRLog
This blog is written by academic librarians for academic librarians. I was introduced to this blog in LIS 5243 this semester. They have some great articles that give practical insights and tips for academic librarians.
7. The Chronicle of Higher Education
This site is one of the preeminent ones that academics use. Especially if your focus is on academic libraries, this is a great resource! Definitely take advantage of this while you are still an OU student.
8. The Challenges in Developing Digital Collections of Phonograph Records
This is a pdf paper that was written by faculty at McGill University in Montreal. The paper addresses some of the issues that might come up if one decides to create a digital collection of phonograph records.
9. Music Information Retrieval
This site was developed by the University of Illinois and is dedicated to research in the area of music information retrieval. This site has links to relevant research in the field; many of these items are available online. If they are not available digitally, they provide citation information so that the user may find the papers.
10. Directory of Music User Guides for Libraries
This group of bibliographies and pathfinders can be found on Yale’s website. However, the bibliographies and pathfinders have been developed by numerous other universities. This is a great resource for students trying to find sources for research papers.
